A giant squid will eat up to 500 lbs. of fish, crab, shark or any other ocean animal per day.

Depends on what kind of squid you are talking about. If you are talking about giant squid, then they eat large fish, some crustaceans, and even young whales and sharks. Other squid of a smaller size will eat small fish, small crustaceans (including shrimp), and other squid. The shells of the crustaceans do not present a problem for the squid due to the squid's hard beak which is hard enough to break the shells of said crustaceans. Hope this helps! Have a great day! : )
