Water is the matter in the water cycle. Ocean and lake water evaporates and goes up into the air. Under certain conditions, this water vapor condenses into tiny water droplets. When the droplets touch each other and join, they become heavy enough to fall as rain, snow, sleet, hail, and so forth.

The rain, snow, sleet, hail, and so forth, run off of the land in large percentages and flow by rivers back to the ocean or lakes. This all completes a cycle, but in real life, the water cycle is continually taking place around the world.

How does matter remain constant while being recycled through the water cycle?

Matter remains constant in the water cycle because while water molecules are constantly moving through various stages of the cycle (evaporation, condensation, precipitation), the total amount of water on Earth remains relatively constant over time. This means that the same water molecules are being recycled through the cycle continuously, maintaining the overall balance of matter.

How the natural water cycle is compared to recycled water?

Natural water cycle contains recycling of water in biosphere. Water can also be recycled at homes.

What would be the consequence if water was not recycled in nature by the water cycle?

We would run out of water and everything would die. See what happens is that water is recycled after animals or plants use it. It is then cleaned and purified and then rained down again. Without this cycle, humans and everything for that matter would cease to exist. Because, we would all die.
