Mass blooming does occur naturally. In the desert, a rare rainstorm may cause a mass blooming of all the dormant seeds in the soil, and is a most impressive sight.

In a farmed crop, such as onion or carrot, all the plants bloom at a similar time. Which no doubt makes for a monotonous diet for their fertilizing insects.

And of course, mass blooming occurs amongst the large trees such as beech, oaks, etc; without causing a problem.

There could be a possible problem, if there were insufficient pollinators around, for then some of the 'less attractive' flowers would go unpollinated.
