I actually read (from the Harvard Medical School website) that cancer cells rely on normal, healthy genes and cells as much as they rely on mutated ones. Also, they can only survive if the cell that they are living in is low on oxygen. Just like we need oxygen to survive (that's why we can't survive on Mars, people!!!) cancer cells need low oxygen to survive...
Addendum:
While irreverently stated, the above author was quite correct. A cancer cell is ultimately has the same needs as any other cell which primarily consist primarily of oxygen and other nutrients delivered by the blood. For this reason, tumors are often associated with angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels as tumors that are unable to receive adequite nutrients cannot grow).
Parent cells must provide their daughter cells with organelles and genetic material (DNA) in order for them to survive. This ensures that the newly formed cells have the necessary structures and information to carry out their functions and continue to grow.

YES!!! Cells DO need water to survive!
The type of cell that must carry out all the functions necessary for life for an organism to survive is a eukaryotic cell. Eukaryotic cells, which include animal and plant cells, are complex and contain organelles that perform specific functions, such as energy production, waste management, and reproduction. This cellular complexity allows for greater specialization and coordination of biological processes essential for the organism's survival. In unicellular organisms, such as bacteria, prokaryotic cells must also perform all life functions, but they do so with a simpler structure.
There are many things that a cell must do in order to survive. Cells must for example absorb nutrients and take in water.
sperm cells.
they need oxygen , energy , minerals , and water to survive
reproduce.
To survive, a cell must have an original cell to reproduce. They then need energy to survive. (this can be sugar, meat, sun, water, and others)(they mostly use protein to repair themselves) They cells need different structured molecules to survive. If your asking what they have, then they have 3 main features. They have a fatty membrane, to contain all the other molecules. They have Cytosol which is a liquid which contains nutrients. Finally they have DNA or RNA which tells what the cell should do

Homeostasis is the steady internal state all organisms must maintain in order to survive.

All cells survive screening but only a few selected cells whose plasmids match survive selection.
