The kidney is responsible for filtering waste and excess fluid from the blood to form urine. It also helps regulate blood pressure, electrolyte balance, and red blood cell production. Each kidney contains millions of nephrons, the functional units that perform the filtration process.
Diffusion keeps the amounts of molecules inside and outside the cell in balance, or in a state of homeostasis.
The circulatory system works with the skeletal system by providing oxygen and nutrients to the bones through blood vessels. Blood cells are produced in bone marrow, which is housed within certain bones. Additionally, the skeletal system protects vital organs such as the heart and helps with the production of blood cells.
These are valves, and are found in veins to prevent blood from flowing backwards.

The kidney is responsible for maintaining the right balance of salts and acids in the body by filtering and regulating levels of electrolytes and acids in the blood. The kidneys help to excrete excess salts and acids while retaining those that are needed for normal bodily function.
