There are two different types of Arthritis. Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis.
Neither are cause by bacteria. Osteoarthritis is caused by the physical breakdown of the layers of cartilage that protect the joints.
Rheumatoid is cause by an immune system that attacks the cartilage and "cilia"(little tiny hair like structures) that act as lubricant in the joints. Osteoarthritis is treatable and usually does not become crippling. Rheumatoid Arthritis is a degenerative , progressive disease that can be treated to slow down it's progress and give pain relief to the patient, but cannot be cured and in most cases becomes a crippling disease.
Pathogens
Bacteria and viruses that cause illness are known as pathogens.
Pathogens and non-pathogens are alike in that they can both exist in various environments and interact with organisms. However, pathogens have the ability to cause disease in their hosts, while non-pathogens do not typically cause harm.
Plant Pathogens are organisms in the plants, that can cause plants to become diseased.
The disease causing microbes are called pathogens.
Bacteria such as Gonococcus can cause Arthritis.
