There are many Johann gottfrieds
Johann Gottfried Galle (June 9, 1812 - July 10, 1910) was a German astronomer at the Berlin Observatory who, with the assistance of student Heinrich Louis d'Arrest, was the first person to view the planet Neptune, and know what he was looking at (September 23, 1846). He used the calculations of Urbain Le Verrier to know where to look.
Neptune was predicted by astronomers be observing the effects of its gravity. Neptune was discovered in 1846 by Johann Gottfried Galle.
Johann Gottfried Zinn, a German anatomist and botanist, died in 1759 from tuberculosis at the age of 38. This respiratory illness was common during that time period and often fatal before the advent of modern medical treatments.
Neptune was discovered on September 23, 1846. It was first observed by German astronomer Johann Gottfried Galle, based on calculations by French mathematician Urbain Le Verrier and British mathematician John Couch Adams.
Neptune, the planet, was not "founded" by anyone as it is a natural astronomical body. It was discovered by German astronomer Johann Galle, British mathematician John Couch Adams, and French mathematician Urbain Le Verrier in 1846 through mathematical predictions based on perturbations observed in the orbit of Uranus.
