Venus spins the "wrong" way as compared to the other planets, but VERY slowly. (A "sidereal day" on Venus is longer than the "year"!) The spin of Uranus is more or less "sideways" as compared to the other planets.

All the other planets, and the Sun itself, spin "counter-clockwise" as viewed from a location high above the north pole. That's called "prograde rotation".

So, all the planets in our solar system have prograde rotation ,except for Venus and Mercury.

We sort of expect that when we examine other solar systems, we'll find a more-or-less even split between solar systems with clockwise and counterclockwise rotations.

What is the dominant mode of rotation of the planets called?

The dominant mode of rotation of planets, where they rotate counterclockwise on their axis as viewed from above the North Pole, is called prograde rotation.

Does Neptune prograde or retrograde?

It Is Prograde Because The Moon Triton Is Retrograde According to scientist Triton was captured and rotates is a opposite Direction as Neptune

Does Venus have a retrograde revolution?

Prograde. In our solar system, prograde is counterclockwise rotation or revolution. Retrograde is clockwise rotation or revolution.Clockwise and counterclockwise are "as viewed from above the Earth's north pole".All solar system planets have a prograde rotation except Venus and Uranus which have retrograde rotation. All the planets have prograde orbital motion (revolution) around the Sun.So, Mercury has prograde motion in both cases.

What is difference between prograde rotation and retrograde rotation?

Prograde rotation is the rotation of an object in the same direction as its orbit around another object, while retrograde rotation is the rotation in the opposite direction of its orbit. For example, most planets in our solar system have prograde rotation, where they rotate counterclockwise when viewed from above the North Pole. Venus, however, has retrograde rotation, rotating clockwise when viewed from above the North Pole.

Is the earth's rotation prograde or retrograde?

The Earth's rotation is prograde, meaning it rotates in the same direction as its orbit around the Sun. This is also known as "counterclockwise" when viewed from above the North Pole.

Does Eris have retrograde rotation or has prograde?

Eris has retrograde rotation, meaning it rotates in the opposite direction compared to most other planets in our solar system.

Is earth reteograde or prograde?

Earth is considered to be prograde, meaning it orbits the Sun in the same direction as the Sun's rotation. Retrograde motion typically refers to the apparent backward motion of planets when observed from Earth, but this does not apply to Earth itself.

Does Venus have a retrograde revolution?

Planets move around the sun in a counterclockwise direction as viewed from above the Earth's North Pole. This is known as the prograde motion.

Can people control the seasons why or why not?

people can not control the seasons it's something that the roation of the earth controls if you stop the roation then you i gusse control; the seasons

How many degrees in a quarter roation?

90

Is Neptune retrograde?

No. All the planets in our solar system are prograde. At times it can appear retrograde when viewed from earth as an affect of our relative speed during certain times of our orbit.

What is the direction of revolution of the planets in our solar system?

The planets revolve (orbit) in an anticlockwise direction when observed from a point high above the Earth's north pole.

Does Saturn have prograde or retrograde rotation?

Yes. "Retrograde motion" occurs when the apparent path of a planet through the background of the stars appears to turn backward from its usual direction. The cause is that the Earth and other planets are in orbit around the Sun. The inner planets orbit more quickly than the outer ones. At times in its orbit, the Earth seems to "leap ahead" as it passes the outer planet.
