Slime molds are classified as fungi-like protists because they share some characteristics with both fungi and protists. They were previously classified as fungi due to their similar appearance and habitat preferences. However, genetic and molecular studies have shown that slime molds are more closely related to protists than fungi.
Archaebacteria arose first, followed by protists, then animals, fungi, and plants. This evolutionary sequence is generally accepted by scientists based on evidence from the fossil record and molecular studies.
One piece of evidence supporting the idea that poriferans evolved from protists is the similarity in genetic sequences between certain protists and sponges. Additionally, some protists share characteristics with poriferans, such as the presence of collar cells, which suggests a possible evolutionary relationship between the two groups. Studies of early fossil records also provide some evidence of a transitional form between protists and sponges.
Animal-like protists are autotrophic, while plant-like protists are heterotrophic.
The kingdom Protista is difficult to classify because it is a diverse group of organisms that do not fit neatly into other existing kingdoms. Protists can vary greatly in terms of their characteristics, making it challenging to create a clear classification system for them. Additionally, advancements in genetic studies have shown that some protists are more closely related to plants, animals, or fungi than to other protists, further complicating their classification.

I would think that by "professional" they mean degrees such as Medicine, Dentistry, etc. Any studies undertaken that lead directly to a certain profession. In contrast, a degree in fields such as political science, biology, and history, do not lead to any particular profession since multiple career paths may be chosen after those studies are accomplished. All this info is just on my intuition.
