In the war they used sand, earth and clay.
No, napalm and Agent Orange are not the same thing. Napalm is a flammable liquid used in warfare to create fire, while Agent Orange is a herbicide used during the Vietnam War to clear vegetation. Both were used by the United States military in Vietnam, but they serve different purposes.
napalm can burn through anything and everything from 8 to 17 hours
heat causes the 'soda' (sodium bicarbonate) to release carbon dioxide which displaces oxygen and puts out the fire.
yes, you can mix napalm with thermite, though EXTREMELY dangerous it makes for a much bigger flame, much more destructive, and a hell of a lot more delicate. so make sure that when it gets ignited, to be plenty far away. Napalm isn't an explosive, the explosive in napalm devices is jellied gasoline, Napalm is the substance that binds it all together.
I actually posted this question. I'm in Fire Academy, and it's something we've been given to research. I know about water smothering the fire and creating steam and blah blah blah... I'm looking for something more technical. Maybe a checmical reaction diagram or something??? Any help is HUGELY appreciated! :) It is actually a joke, it's a fire boat. I got it in fire academy too.

napalm is the mix with petroleum jelly to create a fire bomb!
No. Napalm is the name given to any of a number of flammable liquids used in warfare, often jellied gasoline (as by Wikipedia's definition). A chemical weapon is one that does not cause physical damage from blast or fire. Instead it releases a chemical agent that is harmful to humans.
During the war, US policy was: 1. First strike with atomic weapons 2. Will retaliate with chemical weapons, if the enemy uses them first 3. Will never use biological weapons Napalm is a fire weapon. Napalm came under heavy public attack during/since Vietnam. Fire weapons are not new; in WWII, the German city of Dresden was firebombed by allied bombers. Napalm today is frowned upon by all the peoples (because of images of Vietnam); but their are other forms of fire weapons that are equal to Napalm that can be used by the military if needed.
The atomic bomb killed millions of people in just one bomb , the napalm on the other hand , was nothing like it . Napalm is a chemical device ... it produces fire (it's also called jellied gasoline). An atomic bomb is a nuclear device ... and puts out considerably more energy.
