"The sky is blue because, the universe is black and when you flash the sun on it it turns blue, so there u go"-Dan
That is part true. The colors of the rainbow go at different speeds. Blue is the slowest of all colors and gets caught by many things before it reaches your eyes. The layer of ozone in the earth's atmosphere (Ozone Layer) catches some of the blue light and keeps it in the sky. The rest is let down onto the seas, to make the water look blue.
No. There are many hues of blues (dark, light, turquoise) and sky blue is a separate one, bright but not necessarily "light" as in pale or pastel. See the link below for some shades of blue.
well, if you treat glass similarly to how you treat the sky, the glass refracts more blue light. I am not certain about this, but it makes sense. when you look at the sky, you see blue because blue light from the sun is refracted by the atmosphere more than other colors. When i look at glass (clear glass) i see blue when i look through the very thick parts of the glass at the right angle. therefore, blue seems to be refracted the most. if anyone can improve this please do. AP physics C does not cover light waves
A blue streak in the sky could be caused by a meteoroid entering Earth's atmosphere and burning up, creating a bright streak of light known as a meteor. It could also be caused by certain atmospheric conditions or phenomena such as light scattering, which can make the sky appear blue in certain areas.
Blue light is most scattered by oxygen and nitrogen molecules in the Earth's atmosphere. This is why the sky appears blue during the day.
The sky appears blue because of Rayleigh scattering, where shorter blue wavelengths of light are scattered more than longer wavelengths like red or orange by molecules and particles in the atmosphere. This scattering causes the blue light to dominate our view of the sky, making it appear blue.
The ocean is blue due to the way that light enters the atmosphere. The spectrum (Rainbow effect) refracts the light and the light is blue this light is reflected of the ocean to make it look blue. this mixed with the depth enables the sea to look blue.
dark blue
no that doesn't make sense when they say sky blue it means it is a blue colour that looks like the sky
Because of the way the atmosphere refracts the sunlight - showing the blue part of the spectrum.
the sky is blue due to (what i belive) is the sunlight reflecting off of the atmoshere, but by your question you said " make" if your talking art, like,,, paint then i think blue paint, with a drop of white then keep adding drops till its light enough
they do not, the sky is a blue color because that is the color of light that breaks through the atmosphere. if air molecules did make the sky appear blue, then how would you explain a sunset?
No. The blue you see in the sky is sunlight scattered by the atmosphere. In simple terms, the sky is blue because blue light is more easily scattered. Additionally, air itself has a very slight bluish tint.
The gasses that make up our atmosphere pass most light through transparently, but slightly reflect the blue part of the light spectrum. Result: We see the sky as blue.
dark blue the sky is light blue
Light blue. A light blue Azure Blue.
The sky is blue because air scatters blue light more than it scatters red light. So, when you look up at the sky (the sky, not the sun) you are looking at a portion of air. That air has scattered blue light so blue light is what enters your eyes.
The sun gives of light the form of white light. The sun's light is reflected by the sea which is blue. This is why the sky is blue.
