a gun called the 50 cowl sniper rifle
NO they can not travel faster than sound in thunder and lightning
Jet planes often fly faster than sound.
yes, Even a rifle bullet may travel faster than sound, but even then, it cannot reach escape velocity. Rockets seem to have beaten the escape velocity problem. A space missile will travel more than 11.2 km/s, which is about 10 times the speed of a bullet. +/- [Sound velocity ~ 330m/s.] The first body to leave the Earth was the Sputnik.
its not
The sound barrier
vice versa sniper rifles shoot their bullets faster than the speed of sound
Russian assault rifle Anti air missile Sniper rifle - looks like a Russian draugnut sniper rifle. Combat rifle- the most modern looking weapon. Covert pistol- it has a sound supressor
It is possible, and in the history of silenced weapons it may have been done for some special purpose such as assassination, but the rifle will still make an audible sound. With any rifle, the bullet will hit the target before the sound reaches it anyway, and that time is increased by the extra range of a sniper's rifle, so there is little point in silencing them for most wartime applications. The sound emitted can be reduced further still by using subsonic ammunition, but this is less effective, and also can reduce the effective range.
A true military sniper's rifle is not going to be quiet- the projectile is traveling faster than the speed of sound, and makes a loud CRACK! as it passes through the air. However, among the quitest military firearms was probably the De Lisle Carbine- a .45 ACP bolt action carbine. Effective to about 200 yards, it could not be heard at 50 yards. Made in Britain in WW 2
You could easily hear it as long as there is no silencer. Bullets actually travel faster than sound so if your trying to assassinate some one (that's why your asking right?) the bullet will hit them a few seconds before they hear the gun shot. But yes, you can easily hear it from 2 mi away
Yes, there is alliteration in "The Sniper" by Liam O'Flaherty. For example, in the sentence "The turret turned slowly towards the sniper," the repeated "t" sound creates alliteration.
Hmmm. Interesting question. A bb is propelled by an air piston - cylinder design out of the barrel of an airsoft rifle. Due to the sound of the mechanism, it does sound like the gun "shoots", however, there is no explosive or gunpowder involved in the process. It all depends on how you interpret "shoot".
The FIRST sound would be the crack of the bullet making a sonic boom- most travel faster than the spped of sound. The second is the sound of the gun firing- it takes longer for the sound to get to you than the bullet takes to get to you.
Since Laser is light and light is faster than anything we know of on earth the laser is faster, especially if it is a constant beam. Bullets can travel faster than sound, but still nowhere near the speed of light. Besides, despite what you see in Star Wars, there are not laser guns, only lasers.
it will appear as though you will see/hear at the same time, but since light travels MUCH faster than sound, the flash comes first, and then the bang
yes, sound travels faster in liquids and solids than in gases e.g. faster in water than through air. The denser the solid, the faster the sound travels.
Ultrasonic means 'faster than sound'. This means no sound wave can be faster than sound.
