Parícutin (or Volcán de Parícutin, also accented Paricutín) is a cinder cone volcano in the Mexican state of Michoacán, close to a lova-covered village of the same name.
A volcanic eruption, especially from a nearby active volcano, could bury a town under ash. When a volcano erupts explosively, it can produce a massive cloud of ash that settles over the surrounding area, burying buildings and infrastructure. This type of event has occurred throughout history in places like Pompeii and more recently in cities near volcanoes like Mount St. Helens.
A super volcano can cause widespread destruction by ejecting large amounts of volcanic ash, gas, and debris into the atmosphere, leading to global cooling, reduced visibility, and crop failures. Additionally, the eruption can trigger massive landslides and pyroclastic flows that can bury entire regions under thick layers of ash and debris. The aftermath of a super volcano eruption can have long-lasting impacts on local ecosystems, weather patterns, and human populations.
When a volcano erupts violently it expels large amounts of ash, gas, and pumice. Some of this material will race down the sides of the volcano as hot avalanche-like masses called pyroclastic flows. Pyroclastic flows are the most dangerous product of volcanic eruptions; they are unsurvivably hot and carry enough force to level concrete buildings. If ash mixes with a large amount of water it can form deadly mudflows called lahars that can bury entire towns.
Lava flows from vents, setting fire to and often burring everything in its path, it also belches out a mixture of dangerous materials this can burn trees and plants, also bury and kill animals and it affects their environment.
The land gets destroyed by lava that the volcano ejects. The volcano's lava flows, ash clouds, fire, pyroclastic clouds, mud slides and falling debris can all devastate the landscape. The earthquakes and sometimes tidal waves that a volcano can cause also cause widespread devastation.

They bury and burn up towns. Look at Pompeii for a good example of what happens.
There's quite a few... Some (but not all) are - Banbury, Canterbury, Glastonbury, Salisbury, Shrewsbury, Welbury & Aylesbury
An earthquake under the volcano caused Mt Vesuvius to erupt and bury the town under volcanic debris.

Ash can bury towns, damage crops, block the sunlight, take lives, and much more. If an earthquake is the cause of the eruption, then the earthquake can also damage towns, crops, and other stuff. The lava can cool over houses and other things, covering them with obsidian (a mineral).
