i dont know for sure, but i would guess that it creates a subduction zone with the continental lithosphere on top and the oceanic lithosphere subsiding.
convergent boundary
An area where two tectonic plates collide is called a boundary. There are three kinds of boundaries. They are convergent, divergent, and transform boundaries.
At convergent boundaries plates come together. In other words, they converge.
A convergent boundary is formed when two crustal lithospheric plates collide. This collision can result in the formation of mountain ranges, deep ocean trenches, and volcanic arcs. The type of convergent boundary that forms depends on the type of crust involved in the collision (oceanic or continental).
Another type of boundary where rock layers fold to form mountain ranges is a convergent boundary. At convergent boundaries, tectonic plates are pushed together, causing compression that leads to the folding and uplift of rock layers, resulting in the formation of mountain ranges.
convergent boundary
This type of plate boundary is called a convergent boundary or subduction zone. It occurs when two tectonic plates collide, with the denser oceanic plate being forced beneath the less dense continental plate. This process can lead to the formation of deep oceanic trenches and volcanic arcs on the overriding plate.
A continental-continental convergent boundary occurs when two tectonic plates move against together, creating folded mountain ranges.
When two continental plates come together, they can form convergent boundaries where one plate is forced beneath the other in a process known as subduction. This can lead to the formation of mountain ranges, earthquakes, and volcanic activity as the plates interact and collide.
In plate tectonics, a convergent boundary also known as a destructive plate boundary (because of subduction), is an actively deforming region where two (or more) tectonic plates or fragments of lithosphere move toward one another and collide. As a result of pressure, friction, and plate material melting in the mantle, earthquakes and volcanoes are common near convergent boundaries.

Divergent
Convergent means where plates are moving together. Divergent means where plates are moving apart.
A convergent boundary is where plates move together.
It is called a "convergent boundary".
what is happening at a convergent plate boundary is the two plates are coming together and forming mountains.
