Air pressure does make quite a difference in weather. In this question, we are talking about high pressure areas and low pressure areas.

In High Pressure areas, this doesn't allow for cloud formation, so we end up getting very nice weather. Low Pressure areas are the exact opposite, this allows for cloud formation, so we end up getting rainy weather.

High Pressure Areas are represented with a blue H on a weather map. Low Pressure Areas are represented with a red L on a weather map.
