Yes, James I of England was a Stuart. He was the first monarch of the Stuart dynasty to rule England, ascending to the throne in 1603 after the death of Elizabeth I. Shakespeare's life overlapped the reigns of two English monarchs, and so he lived in both the Elizabethan Era (named for Queen Elizabeth I) and the Jacobean Era (named for King James I). Elizabeth was the last Tudor monarch so he lived in the Tudor Era, and James was the first Stuart monarch so he also lived in the Stuart Era. The time in which he lived is also sometimes called the English Renaissance. And of course Shakespeare himself is such a prominent figure that his times might be called the Shakespearean Era.
