I've found that Ecover window cleaner is a good solution. It is made from natural products and will biodegrade when it touches the soil. It also cleans the windows very well!
You can use any window cleaner, but make sure you use white paper towels to remove any residue. That is what is leaving the streaks. I use window cleaning wipes that work well.
