1.carbon buildup in carburator 2. vacum leak not a sure thing but they are the most likely causes
The rough idling, high and low idle, and stalling issues with your 1996 Mazda 626 LX could be caused by several factors such as a dirty or faulty idle air control valve, a vacuum leak, a malfunctioning throttle position sensor, or a clogged fuel filter. It is recommended to have a professional mechanic diagnose the problem to properly identify and address the issue.
Vacuum leak. Could also be the idle air control valve. Idle time variance is calculated by finding the difference between the actual idle time and the standard idle time, then multiplying the result by the standard rate for idle time. The formula is: Idle Time Variance = (Actual Idle Time - Standard Idle Time) x Standard Rate for Idle Time. This variance helps identify whether idle time was more or less than anticipated and its impact on costs.
You should have the check engine light come on for this, if it does then check the codes. If the light does not come on, then yes it is possible it is the idle sensor, could be the MAP,( master air flow sensor also ) best, do you have a auto wreckers ( scrap yard ) near you, check for some used parts to confirm the problem. Problem with Ford, most of these parts are yours once you leave the building. No return.
The RPMs may fluctuate when the car is stopped at a light due to issues with the idle control system, such as a dirty throttle body, faulty idle air control valve, or vacuum leak. It is recommended to have the car inspected by a mechanic to diagnose and properly address the issue.
rough idle smell gas
the radiotor or the cams
I had the same problem with my 2005 ford expedition... it was my chamshaft....... The repair is expensive... But it fixed the problem......
The 1995 Ford Aspire would have a rough idle cut off of power at high speeds due to mis firing. There is also a rev limiter to control how fast you can go.
throttle body or idle air control value
The most common cause of a 1996 Ford Escort to idle rough is bad spark plugs or bad spark plug wires. A plugged air filter will also cause it to idle rough.
possible vacume leak in the egr valve or bad valve itself.
A bad IAC (Idle air control valve) or a vacuum leak or both.
I am having the same problem, and poor acceleration!!
jerking speed 40 50
P1000 on any ford means you have cleared the PCM codes and it hasn't run it's self-diagnostic tests yet. This will go away. It is not related to your rough idle.
