The Mars rover Opportunity was launched on July 7, 2003 and landed on Mars on January 25, 2004 as part of NASA's Mars Exploration Rover mission.
The last space probe to land on Mars was the Mars Phoenix lander which arrived about 16 months ago and is still operating. Additionally, the two rovers Spirit and Opportunity are still functional, even though Spirit has been stuck in a sand bog for about 3 months now.The Opportunity rover is currently studying a meteorite that was laying on the surface of Mars.

The opportunity that Mars represents for Earth is expansion. It is believed that people from Earth may one day be able to visit or live on Mars. It represents an amazing exploration opportunity.

The Phoenix lander landed on Mars in May, 2008. It isn't really a rover. It is a lander, doesn't move around like the Mars Exploration Rovers - Spirit and Opportunity.
The first one was a pathfinder named Sojourner. The second and third were named phoenix and phoenix 2. The 4th was a rover called Opportunity which was followed by Spirit which landed in Gusev Crater that's believed to have been an ancient lake. The last one and

The Spirit rover landed on Mars on January 4, 2004, while the Opportunity rover followed shortly after, landing on January 25, 2004. Both rovers were part of NASA's Mars Exploration Rover mission and were designed to explore the Martian surface and gather scientific data. They significantly exceeded their planned missions, with Spirit operating until 2010 and Opportunity until 2018.
