Colour is the human perception of certain frequencies of light. Without light, there is no colour to be perceived. A dark room may still have light in it (and in fact it does in the form of infrared light), but the intensity of that light is small, and the human eye may not be able to see it.
In short, no light = no colour.
Even in a dark room, there may still be small amounts of light present that can activate the cells in our eyes responsible for detecting color. This residual light can cause us to perceive colors, although they may not be as vibrant as in a well-lit environment.
Lighter colors, tangerine, soft yellow, light pink or blue, make the ROM feel larger. Darker colors, midnight blue, maroon, sage green, make the room feel smaller. It's because of the way the light refreacts.
by going in a dark room and see if it have lot of heat to light up the room
Placing a patient in a closed dark room can lead to feelings of isolation and discomfort, impacting their mental and emotional well-being. Live plants require light for photosynthesis and growth, so placing them in a dark room would deprive them of essential sunlight and potentially harm their health.
Your eyes have been desensitized because of the candles, so the bright colors affect you more.
Light colors reflect and dark colors absorb.

A dark curtain can help keep a room cooler by blocking out sunlight, which reduces the amount of heat that enters through the windows. Dark colors absorb more heat, preventing it from heating up the room compared to lighter colors. This can help reduce the need for air conditioning and maintain a cooler temperature in the room.
Carpet colors play a significant role in room design. Not only do they complete a color palette, but they can actually change the size of a room. If you have a large room, you can bring the walls in by using a dark shade carpet. In contrast, if you have a small room, you can push the walls out with a lighter hue in your palette. When picking the dark and light colors, try not to select one of the prominent colors in your palette. If you select a shade that is used minimally, your carpet will have more of an influence in your room.
Because light colors reflect light, as opposed to dark colors that absorb light.
Because there is still some Light in the room. If it were absolutely Dark, nothing would be seen!
Well brown matches with everything but you mostly want warm colors in the living room.
usually darker colors, like blue, brown, green, and black, but in my room, i used two bright colors with one dark one, and it turned out great. just make sure that the walls or baseboard are the dark and the celeing is the bright. baseboard can be either dark or light. Edited Part : I agree, dark colours; black, brown.... are really stuffy like. and make then room look smaller.
You can go off of your other colors in your room. or there is always whether you want your room to be dark or and cozy or if you want your room to be somewhat bright with lighting and confortable.
It probably would make it seem smaller. if darker colors like Brown and dark green do, than really so would dark blue. Any dark color will make a room appear smaller because there is not much reflection of of it. White makes a room appear larger.
If there is no light you can not see. There is only blackness. This is quite disconcerting. If you put your hand in front of your eyes you can not see it. If the room is dark ie no light then you can not see.
There are many ways to decide on a color palette for a room. Many people chose favorite colors, for example with childrens rooms. Others tend to go with a theme, or base it off favorite colors. Some people simply choose colors that will brighten an otherwise dark room.
