This week, look out for shooting stars during the Perseid meteor shower, which peaks on the night of August 11th and into the early morning of August 12th. The best time to see shooting stars is usually after midnight when the sky is darkest. Try to find a location away from city lights for optimal viewing conditions.
Yes it did start on October 1, but it comes on week nights at 4:30 pm.
Because most of them are further in the galaxy and the light pollution disables you to see themBecause Earth's atmosphere has a glare that inhibits the viewing of stars. When the sun hits the atmosphere, it glares. Kind of like when headlights shine through your window, and blur your vision.
The vast majority of meteors are somewhere between the size of a grain of sand and a grain of rice. Earth is hit by tens of thousands of these each and every day. Probably only a few dozen per day are the size of a baseball, and only a dozen or so per week are as big as a basketball. Larger ones are even more rare.
Sodium Choleate- it is a bile salt that serves as an emulsifying agent; which aids in the suspension of triglycerides in water. I'm not going to lie, I do not know how or why, but I just did it in my chemistry class last week.
Nothing has changed; the Sun is no brighter today that it was last week or last year. Perhaps you are in an area that has recently had some heavy rain and is now clear? Rain falling can clear the air of dust and pollen, and if your air was particularly dusty before, the difference can be dramatic.

That will depend on where you live. However, while the peak date is the 12th of August, (today as I type this) you will see meteors for many nights before and after. The peak is just when you will see most of them, but there are always lots to be seen for a week before and after a meteor shower, and sometimes even more than that. So if it is clear, go out and have a look. If it isn't clear, don't worry as you can go and have a look for several nights to come yet.
