if an heavenly body orbits a star it is called a planet.

  • if the size of the heavenly body is normal(in comparison to that of the inner planets of our solar system) it is just called planet
  • if it is smaller it is called a dwarf planet.
  • if it is bigger it is called a giant planet,gas giant,ice giant,super planet,or basically whatever it is made up of.

if the same heavenly body orbits a planet is becomes a satellite
