Folding typically occurs in rock layers due to excessive heat and force. When rocks fold against each other they form interesting rock layers.
The Earth's lithosphere is broken into several pieces known as tectonic plates. These plates float on the semi-fluid asthenosphere beneath them and constantly move, leading to activities like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions at their boundaries.
Crustal deformation. That is, when pieces of the Earth's crust change shape due to tectonic forces.
Sedimentary rock
Tectonic plates are the rigid but moving pieces of Earth's surface that float on the semi-fluid asthenosphere below. These plates interact at plate boundaries, leading to various geological phenomena like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and mountain formation.
The rock that forms in layers of small pieces is called sedimentary rock. It is made up of fragments of other rocks, minerals, or organic material that have been weathered and transported by wind, water, or ice before settling and lithifying into solid layers. Examples of sedimentary rocks include sandstone, shale, and limestone.
fold and bend under stress, creating various types of folds such as anticlines and synclines. This process is often associated with tectonic forces and can result in the formation of mountain ranges and other geological features. Folded rock layers can provide valuable information about the Earth's history and the forces that have shaped its surface over time.

If u want to do short layers you cut the top pieces shorter than the bottom pieces. Long layers you just cut top pieces medium length bottom pieces only dead ends. Long layers are barely noticable.
It's what happens when two tectonic plates come together and push against each other. Like what happens when you take two pieces of paper, push them together, and see them come up like mountains

Meteoritesis what we call stones that enter the earths atmosphere.
To create a DIY folding chair, you will need to gather materials such as wood, hinges, screws, and a saw. Begin by cutting the wood into pieces for the chair frame and seat. Attach the pieces together using screws and hinges to allow for folding. Make sure the chair is sturdy and secure before use.
