Marble.
Limestone is typically the product of accumulated decomposed marine life as it settles to the bottom of a body of water. This sedimentary rock, laid down in earlier geological ages, is the starting material for marble. When limestone is exposed to geological pressure and heat, it changes (metamorphosizes) into marble. The metamorphic stone known as marble is highly alkaline, like limestone, but is far less porous (permeable), and much denser and harder.Marble quarries are areas of the earth that were once sea bottoms, then were exposed, through tectonic plate activity, to great heat and pressure.
By the metamorphosis of limestone, marble is formed. By the thermal decomposition of limestone, quicklime is formed. Which process depends on the temperature and pressure.
An igneous rock, just like any other rock, can be changed through metamorphic, igneous, and/or sedimentary processes. When exposed to high temp. and pressure, igneous becomes metamorphic. When re-melted, it becomes igneous again. When weathered/eroded, it becomes sedimentary.
Igneous rocks-after having the chance to cool down after a melt (metamorphic rocks need pressure as well)

Sedimentary rock that is exposed to heat and pressure will be changed to (metamophised) into metamorphic rock. This is often associated with volcanic activity. An example is limestone, when exposed to the pressure and heat can be changed to marble.
Metamorphic rock
Marble is a metamorphic rock type form. Marble is used as a building material and as sculpture material also.

Shale that is exposed to high temperature and pressure and turned to slate is an example of the metamorphic process.
If igneous rocks are exposed to extreme pressure and heat, they are likely to recrystallize into new igneous rocks. On the other hand, if sedimentary rocks are exposed to extreme pressure and heat, they are likely to metamorphose into metamorphic rocks.
Slate is the metamorphic rock that forms from shale after it is exposed to heat and pressure for a llllloooooonnnnnnnggggg time.
