Yes
walking, running!!
Lightning literally is static electricity. just like when your shock someone after walking in sock on carpet.. its the same transer of energy due to the clouds and the earth becoming electrically unbalanced. It is the same as when you rub your socks on a carpet and then touch someone.
The electricity created when combing your hair with a plastic comb is static electricity. The same affect is created when walking across a nylon carpet, or rubbing an inflated balloon on your nylon pullover. Children jumping up and down on the nylon net-floor of a trampoline often have their hair standing straight up - a sure sign of static electricity.
Storing of electrons to be discharged by static electricity
You build up static electricity by walking across the carpet. When you touch metal doorknob, it releases the stored energy.positive and negative charges. when you drag your feet against carpet you are negatively charged and so the door knob is positively charged so there fore causing an electric shock

You use energy when walking on a carpet. You may pick up a static charge depending on the material of the carpet
static electricity (kinitic)
The friction of your feet on a carpet generates static electricity. When you then touch the metal doorware its earths through you causing the charge to pass to the door.

It may not do anything ... but if you use it as a ground strap (let it drag on the carpet) it will tend to breed off the static charge as it builds up.
Walking across a carpet can cause charge separation, which creates static electricity. You become electrically charged. When you get zapped touching a door knob, the static charge you had built up is discharging.
The duration of Walking Across Egypt is 1.67 hours.
There are many common examples of static charge. One is walking across carpet then receiving a shock when you touch something. Another is when your hair sticks up after putting on a sweater. A final example is when a sock sticks to other clothing when being removed from the dryer.
