it took billions of years for oxygen to saturate the atmosphere. it has been building up slowly since about 3.5 billion years ago.
around 2.5 billion years ago levels were enough for life to slowly start moving out of the seas (there needed to be enough ozone to weaken the suns strong UV radiation)
Life until about 530 million years ago was nothing more complex than bacteria
It took 4600 million years to populate the earth with the life we have on it today.
Earth is the only planet in our solar system known to have abundant oxygen in its atmosphere, making it suitable for sustaining life as we know it. Other planets such as Mars and Venus have trace amounts of oxygen but not enough to support human life without additional life support systems.
Oxygen usually exists as a diatomic molecule, O2, in the Earth's atmosphere.
The oxygen in the air of earth is the result of biological processes over the past 4000 million years. Trees give out oxygen as they photosynthesize ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Initially Earth's atmosphere did not contain free Oxygen (we know this from the chemistry of sediments that were first formed). Life on earth then happened and by the process of photosynthesis slowly began releasing Oxygen into the environment. At first this Oxygen reacted chemically with stuff (eg Iron salts) in the environment but over time all this "stuff" was converted and free Oxygen began to appear in the environment. This speeded up the development of life and about 600 million years ago there was enough Oxygen for life to use it to build calcareous shells and eventually for life to move onto the land. Thus life has made the planet we have today, Earth has been "terraformed" and now has an Oxygen rich atmosphere.
Oxygen is the most common and abundant element in the Earth's crust having 47% of the mass.
It took 4600 million years to populate the earth with the life we have on it today.
Lots of races populate Middle Earth, but the most famous ones are : -> Elves -> Humans -> Dwarves -> Hobbits -> Goblins
Approximately 2.4 billion years ago, during an event called the Great Oxidation Event, enough oxygen began accumulating in Earth's atmosphere due to the development of oxygen-producing photosynthetic organisms. This led to the rise of oxygen levels on Earth over time.
---- I have no idea == ==
The Earth will not run out of oxygen anytime soon. Oxygen is constantly being produced by plants through photosynthesis, and there is currently enough oxygen in the atmosphere to support life for millions of years.
So we are able to populate the earth. same with animals.
more oxygen was consumed
Gravity is what keeps oxygen (and other gases) from escaping Earth's atmosphere. The gravitational force of Earth is strong enough to hold on to gases in its atmosphere, including oxygen. This allows for the maintenance of a stable and breathable atmosphere on the planet.
Cain had no choice but to marry his sisters and have children.
the reason the moon has not got enough oxygen is because the moon has no ozone layer so it has the same amount of air as the earth but it just escapes into the galaxy
Not at this time. Perhaps if enough oxygen and food were brought along.
Because humans over populate it and destroy everything - similar to a virus !
