this is tricky, bcoz it depends on the waters initial temperature. water can freeze/melt at 1 degrees C, so u dont need a change of temperature for water 2 change its physical state.

if the water is initally at, lets say, 10 degrees c, then no it wont gain energy, infact it will have to release energy (think of energy as being heat, bcoz that is in fact what it is)

Under O oC water become ice (a solid).

When a liquid cools to be a solid?

When a liquid cools to be a solid, the particles within the liquid lose energy, causing them to move slower and become more ordered. This results in the formation of a solid with a fixed shape and volume.

When water is freezing is thermal energy released or absorbed?

When water freezes, thermal energy is released from the water as it changes from a liquid to a solid. This released energy is responsible for lowering the temperature of the water to its freezing point and then further to form ice.

What is Conversion from water to ice called?

Solidification or freezing is when a liquid turns to solid (when cold enough.

What is the freezing point for condensation?

Condensation does not have a specific freezing point as it is the process by which vapor turns into a liquid when it cools. However, condensation can lead to the formation of ice when the temperature drops below freezing.

What is the property called when water heats and cools slowly?

The property is called high specific heat capacity. Water has a high specific heat capacity because it can absorb and release a large amount of heat energy before its temperature changes significantly. This is why water heats and cools slowly compared to other substances.

What is the freezing point of water in Celsius?

The freezing point of water in Celsius is 0 degrees.

Does salt affect the temperature of water -boiling point - freezing point?

i would opt for the Freezing point. salt decreases the freezing point of water. so if water would normally freeze at 0C, saltwater would freeze at -3C.

What happens when a bottle of boiling water is surrounded by freezing water?

The boiling water cools and the freezing water warms up until they are both at the same temperature.

What is 0 degrees Celsius?

It is the freezing point of water and equivalent to 32 degrees fahrenheit it is freezing! In Fahrenheit, it is 32 degrees. It is also the freezing point of water in Celsius.

What kind of property is melting point and freezing point of water?

The melting point and freezing point of water are physical properties. The melting point is the temperature at which ice (solid) changes to water (liquid), while the freezing point is the temperature at which water (liquid) changes to ice (solid).

How does salt affect the melting and freezing point of water?

Salt decreases the freezing point of water and increases the boiling point of water.
