Trojan asteroid usually refers specifically to Jupiter trojans.

However it can mean any minor planet or moon that shares an orbit with a larger planet or moon .

Trojans tend to cluster around the Lagrange points L4 and L5. The name comes from the custom of naming asteroids in Jupiter's L4 and L5 points after heroes from the Trojan War (most of the ones in L4 are named after Greeks, most of the ones in L5 are named after Trojans - though there are exceptions to this rule).
