You could look for nice beryl crystals, as well as amethyst and smoky quartz, at the Amos Cunningham Farm, between Antreville and Due West. This is a fee site. Or go to the Durham coal mine for fern fossils, or to Castle Hayne NC for for fossil shark teeth, or Spruce Pines NC for emeralds, quartz crystals, and other goodies. Lots of neat stuff in your area.
I would strongly recommend joining the local club; this is the very best way to find out about what you can find in your area. Don't be shy, rockhounds are the best folks on earth.

The best type of rock to find fossils in is sedimentary rock this is laid down over time and will contain dead animal's, fish and crustaceans. Specific types are trilobites and brachiopods. Fossils can often be found in coal.
what processes must sedimentary rock go through to become a metamorphic rock
Yes, a rock can go through the rock cycle multiple times. Rocks can be weathered, eroded, and transformed into sedimentary rocks; then, with additional heat and pressure, they can be converted into metamorphic rocks; and eventually, they can be melted and recrystallized into igneous rocks, completing the cycle.
No. A rock go from any one of the three types to any other or even back to the same type. Any rock can be re-melted to form magma, any rock can be weathered into sediment, and most rocks can undergo metamorphism. The once exception would be high-grade metamorphic rocks, which form at such high temperatures that any further heating would melt them.

Aiken goes to Judge Wylie's house to receive a significant inheritance from the judge, as Wylie has decided to bequeath his estate to Aiken. This inheritance is rooted in their familial connection and the judge's desire to support Aiken in his future endeavors. The visit is both a formal and personal moment, highlighting the bond they share despite the complexities of their relationship.
