Where do Holes Lead to?

Some may lead to underground caves, but other than that they only lead to a somewhat lower elevation.

Classical sinkholes are formed where ground water percolates through soluble carbonate rock layers, carrying away the rock and leaving caves and open airspaces. Examples are seen in central Florida.

Other sinkholes (such as famous ones in Guatemala City) are formed in a similar way from leaking water pipes or sewage pipes that wash away loose particles in volcanic soils. These are called "pseudokarst cavities."

* In 2012, a large "artificial sinkhole" occurred in Bayou Corne, Louisiana by the accidental puncturing of an underground cavern (an emptied underground salt dome) which drew in vast amounts of water, trees, equipment, and debris.

Unfortunately there isn't much by way of scientific foundation to really know where or even if black holes would lead to somewhere else, particularly because of a long-standing and long-anticipated inability to conduct direct experiments on the subject, hence, much of the issue lies in the realm of speculation and conjecture. Such often indicates infalling matter might find itself in another place in our universe or another universe altogether. Some theory holds that owing to a kind of cosmic symmetry it's possible a black hole is connected to its opposite, a while hole, a location in time-space which can only emit matter and whose singularity would be impossible to reach even travelling at the speed of light. Because space is stretched between the event horizon and the singularity at the center of the black hole, others would posit that there is another "bubble universe" inside each black hole and once crossing the event horizon one might then perceive a universe with normalized laws of physics similar to our own. Theorists and mathematicians have shown it to be possible in the case of a rapidly rotating (Kerr) black hole that if it were possible to survive a journey inside the ergosphere without crossing the event horizon, that a traveler might then emerge at a different location in time and hence such objects in space - if spinning rapidly enough - may constitute natural astronomical time machines. It might be conceivable to survive such a journey with a particularly large black hole which has reduced tidal force near the event horizon, that is spinning particularly fast, if it were possible to also survive the intense heat of the accretion disk - but limitations in materials and prohibitive problems with distance again make direct experimentation a rather distant possibility.

Sinkholes usually lead to an underground stream that in turn is part of the local aquifer. In the case of a "dry" sinkhole it is usually an underground cavern.
