"Waste" has never any use.

Nuclear waste is stored in facilities in the hope that someday, someone will figure out how to deal with it.

Where is uranium waste put?

Uranium waste is typically stored in secure facilities called nuclear waste repositories. These facilities are designed to safely contain and isolate radioactive waste from the environment for long periods of time. Additionally, some waste may be reprocessed or recycled to extract useful materials and reduce the volume of waste.

What are disadvantages of the use of nuclear power for energy?

The waste is hazardous and difficult to store. There is some potential danger in operating a nuclear power plant (cf. Chernobyl and Three Mile Island), but the principal disadvantage is the need to safely store the spent fuel for tens of thousands of years. With proper regulation, safety features, and common sense pretty much none. When you test a poorly designed reactor, lets say a light water graphite moderated reactor also know as an RBMK reactor (Chernobyl) under low power low coolant conditions with al of the safety features turned off things can happen. When you ignore what the computers when they say to shut down the reactor and keep it running (Three mile island) things happen. But if you need disadvantages:Radioactive WasteHigher level waste can be reprocessed into Plutonium either through the use of a reprocessing facility or can be prevent from being made by using a breeder reactor where the higher level waste is not made and enriched Plutonium is made instead.Proliferation of fissionable materialsThe problem with breeder reactors is also the reason why they are good. They produce more fuel but they produce more fuel this highly enriched fuel can be used to make nuclear weapons, dirty bombs, or be used in a nuclear reactor to make energy. There is a large safety risk, from accidents and from terrorists stealing the fuel/byproducts to make weapons of mass destruction, nuclear power plants cost a lot to start, the nuclear fuel is non renewable and there is only enough to last approx 70 years.Nuclear fuel is in fact renewable in so-called "breeder" plants. France uses them, though there are none in the US.Nuclear plants are quite expensive to build, but so are coal-powered plants of equivalent capacity. Several companies are working on low-capacity plants... enough to power a neighborhood or a small village... that would be much cheaper. One disadvantage not mentioned above is the problem of disposing of spent... but still radioactive... fuel.

Where does all the dump go in Qatar?

In Qatar, waste is typically sent to landfill sites or waste treatment plants for disposal. The country also invests in recycling and waste-to-energy initiatives to minimize the amount of waste sent to landfills. Additionally, some waste may be exported to other countries for disposal.

What do people think about toxic waste?

toxic waste comes from oils and chemicals left out to long. JUST STOP THE GOSH DANG POLLUTING U STUPID POLLUTERS U MINE AND FARM AND LANDFILL OWNERS DONT DUMP THE GARBAGE IN THE OCEANS RECYCLE IT DOESNT MATTER IF PEOPLE DONT PUT IT IN THE RECYCLING BIN U PUT IT UR SELF AND U WILL MAKE A CHANGE.=] DISPOSE OF THAT NASTY LIQUID IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!=D

What is nuclear energy and what are the positive and negative impacts on the world?

Nuclear energy is nearly the same as coal energy, in that they both use heat to boil water and use the vapour from this to spin turbines creating electricity. The difference is that they us different heat sources. In nuclear energy, the heat source is radioactive elements. Radioactive materials have chemical reactions which in the process create a lot of energy, mostly heat. The ways it negatively affects us are simple. First of all when they are done with radioactive elements, they have to dispose of the waste byproducts. So they put them in lead barrels and bury them. The waste is not producing heat, but is still radioactive; so if it leaks it could cause heaps of damage. The other reason we might be negatively affected is if an accident happened...think about Chernobyl or more recently Japan.Other than that nuclear energy is a really clean, efficient and useful energy source, as opposed to coal.

Where do America put it's nuclear waste into a mountain?

No place. All proposed sites were withdrawn.

Why don't they take all the nuclear waste products and put it in a rocket and shoot it toward the sun than it would burn up?

First off, taking all nuclear waste products and putting it in a rocket and shooting it toward the sun so then it would burn up could cause problems with out atmosphere. The way the nuclear waste products are handled now is what has been studied and found to be the best possible disposal of the waste products without causing further damage to the people, surrounding areas, and the atmosphere.

Where can nuclear waste be found?

Most USA nuclear waste is stored in nuclear power plants, until something better can be found. Other countries have a tendency to put their nuclear waste in barrels and drop them into the deep parts of the oceans, and they hope the barrels never corrode or leak.

After the US made 32000 nuclear bomb from fear of communisum how much nuclear waste was the US left with?

if the US did make 32000 nuclear weapons (it did not) they all can be dismantled and put into civillian nuclear reactors, where the fission process converts the plutonium into other (slightly weird) by producucts. If you are wondering about the amount of waste made by the original breeder reactors, just as much as a normal reactor.

How dangerous is the threat of Water contamination from Nuclear waste?

If you put nuclear waste in a situation where groundwater can flow over it on the way to a water course, you will obviously get contamination. Nuclear waste stores have to be very carefully considered to find locations that are safe from water access.

Definition of nuclear power plant waste?

Primarily it is the spent fuel which contains highly active fission products. There will be small amounts of low level waste arising mainly from maintenance operations, this can usually be put into a dry store on the site.

Did they take chemicals out of spice?

No they put chemicals, steroids, sodium, mixed hormones, cocaine, and nuclear waste.

What do people do that waste water?

they put it in baths

Why are some people against burying nuclear waste?

These are probably people who are against nuclear power plants altogether, but we do have waste from the present existing plants and something will have to be done eventually to put it into safer places than just leaving it on the power plant sites. The underground repository does need careful consideration and it must be chosen to be in a geologically safe area, away from populations, and where flooding won't occur.

How does nuclear power improve air quality?

Nuclear energy (power) does not improve air quality in any way at all. It just does not create air polution when it is being used to make electricity. The problem with Nuclear power though is finding somewhere to put the radioactive waste which is a different kind of polutant.

Why would the government be interested in the development of nuclear power energy?

It is much more cleaner and lasts a lot longer than fossil fuels. The only problem is where to put the nuclear waste.

Where do you put radioactive waste?

Deep underground. And away from water and people
