Tornadoes happen in most parts of Washington. Most appear to be scattered across the eastern half of the state but the highest concentration appears to be concentrated in a relatively narrow band between the Cascades and the Olympic Mountains and Pacific. Part of this is a result of population density; a tornadothat occurs in a sparsely populated area stands a fair chance of never being reported.
