A female's fertilized egg spends the majority of time in the uterus. This is where the egg will mature and grow.

∙ 10y agoThe female egg, or ovum, develops in the ovaries within structures called follicles. Each month, during the menstrual cycle, a mature egg is released from its follicle in a process called ovulation.

If a sperm fertilizes an egg, the female will not have a menstrual cycle for that month as the fertilized egg will implant in the uterine lining and develop into a pregnancy.
A female egg cell can be fertilized by a sperm cell during ovulation, typically about two weeks before the next expected period. After fertilization, the fertilized egg will develop into a fetus over the course of about 38 weeks, culminating in childbirth.

The implantation of the female egg typically occurs in the lining of the uterus, specifically in the endometrium. This process allows the fertilized egg (zygote) to attach and subsequently develop into an embryo.

It's called the Egg...
An egg gets fertilized in the fallopian tube by a sperm, then it goes inside of the uterus, and inside the uterus it develops.
Ovules are female reproductive structures found in the ovary of a flower. They contain the egg cells and develop into seeds after fertilization.
The supply of food in the female egg is contained in structures called yolk granules. These granules provide the nutrients needed for the developing embryo within the egg to grow and develop until it hatches.
In the style
When a queen lays an egg she has the choice of whether or not to fertilize it. If she does, it will develop into a female; and unfertilized eggs develop into males (drones). The female eggs will usually develop into workers, but if the workers build a queen cell around it and feed the larva exclusively on royal jelly it will develop into a new queen. What is interesting is that it is the workers that decide which egg is to develop into a new queen, not the queen.
