The living cells in the epidermis are located beneath the dead cells. Hope this helps!
Yes but your skin shreds everyday so you may have layers of dead skin forming on the surface of your skin. We shred quite a lot of skin cells everyday but if you're talking about actual layers of skin in which blood runs through then yes, those cells are indeed alive . :)
is epidrmis present in root hairs
To minimize the rate of transpiration
Removing the lower epidermis layer allows for easier observation of stomata and overall leaf structure. Stomata are mostly located on the lower epidermis, which regulates gas exchange for photosynthesis. Additionally, removing the upper epidermis may damage the leaf's cuticle, which can affect its ability to retain water.
The epidermis.
That very top layer of the skin has none. If you cut just that layer and none below, you will not bleed.

Epithelial tissue is present in many areas of the body, including the linings of body cavities and tubes.

Can't draw a diagram for you but, from top to bottom: cuticle-waxy substance secreted by epidermis cells that waterproofs the leaf upper epidermis-closely fitted together like a jigsaw. no chlorophyll palisade layer-where most photosynthesis occurs. chlorophyll present spongy layer-gases diffuse through this layer. chlorophyll present lower epidermis (contains stomata)-like upper epidermis. stomata contain chlorophyll
Answer: the epidermis of a leaf includes: upper epidermis and lower epidermis but if you are referring to the epidermis of an onion: it is only one layer
It is a pore, large numbers of which are present in the epidermis of leaves (especially on the undersurface) and young shoots
Because in leaves it is mostly the upper side facing the sun and receiving light for photolysis of water by the chlorophyll present in the chloroplasts of palisade layer cells hence the palisade layer in dorsiventral leaves is present below the upper epidermis of leaves.
Epidermis is the outermost layer in plants just like the skin. Epidermis protects the internal tissues from mechanical injury and pathogens. It also helps in exchange of gases , transpiration and other processes.Root hair present on epidermis of root help in absorption of water and mineral from soil.
The layer of the epidermis that has pigment-producing melanocytes is the stratum basale (basal layer). Melanocytes produce melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color, and transfer it to surrounding keratinocytes.
the epidermis is thicker.
