Sex hormones are produced in the gonads (ovaries and testicles), and in the cortex of the adrenal gland.
Male hormones are mostly produced in the testes. Female hormones are mostly produced by the ovaries. However, in males, small amounts of estrogen is produced from the pituitary gland, and testosterone in females.
