Actually the drain plug is at the back of the oil pan. It's a stupid design because when you remove the plug the oil shoots straight back toward the rear of the car. Mine will shoot as much as a foot depending on how warm the oil is. So, when you change the oil make sure you have a very wide mouthed catch pan to catch the oil or else it will likely miss the opening. Then as the oil gets closer to completely drained the stream will not be shooting as far and you'll have to adjust the position of your catch pan. Onthebottomoftheoilpan.

First of all, does it have a block heater? If you do not see an electrical cord coming from mid engine area, then you just might not have one. If the car does not start, and most likely it is flooded with gas, then it really needs a warm garage to check or change the plugs and have the oil and filter changed. Then you can have a block heater installed ( if you do not have one of course ).

A drain plug is just a bolt used to plug a hole preventing liquid flow from that hole.
The Coolant Drain Plug for a 1997 Honda Accord LX 4cyl is at the bottom of the Radiator on the left side, if you were facing the Vechiel. It if stock it looks like a Black Medal Wingnut, unless different Drain Plug was put in by previous Owner. The block drain is an 8mm plug next to the oil filer on a 94 Accord LX 2.2L. 94-97 might be the same. There is a 10mm plug near the oil filter also, but it contains oil... I know. I have tried to remove my coolant block drain plug but without success so far... It is torqued! hw

If you do not see a drain plug, then the pan must be removed.
There isn't one, you have to remove the pan to drain the fluid.

You will have to lay up under the engine and you will see the oil pan bolted to the bottom of it. On both sides of the engine block in the middle just above the oil pan were it bolts to the block you will see a plug that a 9/16 inch socket will fit.That will be the block drain plug. Theres 1 on each side of the block.
