In the brain but not in any exact place as it is an epiphenomenon of all the nerve connections throughout the brain.
The conscious level of the mind refers to the thoughts, feelings, and perceptions that individuals are currently aware of and can actively engage with. It represents the tip of the iceberg in terms of mental processes, as much of our cognition occurs below this level in the subconscious and unconscious mind. These deeper levels influence behavior and emotions but operate outside of immediate awareness. Understanding the conscious mind is crucial for processes like decision-making and problem-solving.

The primary somatosensory cortex, located in the parietal lobe of the brain, is responsible for integrating conscious muscle sense. It receives input from sensory receptors in the muscles and joints, allowing us to have awareness of our body's position and movement.
The brain structure responsible for raising or lowering the thresholds of conscious awareness is the reticular activating system (RAS). The RAS is a network of neurons located in the brainstem that plays a crucial role in regulating arousal, alertness, and attention. It modulates sensory input and helps determine what information reaches conscious awareness, thus influencing our level of consciousness and focus.
The Conscious Mind was created in 1996.

Your subconscious
The conscious mind is the part of your mind which you are aware of and have the capacity to control. The unconscious mind is the part of your mind you are unaware of, like your dreams, repressed and forgotten memories, which are inaccessible and uncontrollable. It is believed that your unconscious mind becomes dominant when you are asleep (or unconscious) and your conscious mind is dominant when you are awake (conscious). For more information on the conscious and the unconscious mind, refer to the works of Sigmund Freud who theorised many of the processes on the mind. Although they may or may not be true, his theories and research are considered to be the most accepted ideas of the mind in modern society.
According to Sigmund Freud, the mind consists of two parts: the conscious mind and the unconscious mind. The conscious mind contains thoughts and perceptions that we are aware of, while the unconscious mind holds feelings, memories, and desires that are hidden from our awareness.
subconscious
The mind is often said to consist of the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The conscious mind is responsible for logical thinking and decision-making, while the subconscious mind controls automatic responses and stores memories, beliefs, and emotions.
Conscious is the correct spelling. Some example sentences are:He has been conscious for a day now.I am conscious about my fingernails. His conscious mind was very peculiar to the psychologist.
There are many people having the same question what the difference between the conscious and subconscious mind is. However, it is quite simple, the conscious mind contains the thoughts that one is aware of what is going on in physical world at this very moment, the subconscious mind stores those thoughts that frequently come up in conscious mind, along with any dreams may have.
Freud's theory claims that most psychological disturbances are the result of early trauma or incidents that are often not remembered of recognized. He stated the conscious mind are the persons current awareness, thoughts, beliefs and feelings. However, most of the minds activity occurs outside of the conscious mind in the unconscious mind. The conscious mind is influenced by the preconscious and unconscious mind.
