To get the Umbra sword, you need to visit the Clavicus Vile Daedric Shrine. In the shrine, you will meet Clavicus Vile who will ask you to retrieve the sword for him. Upon completing the quest, you can choose to keep the Umbra sword for yourself.
The word "umbra" comes from Latin, meaning "shadow." "Penumbra" is also from Latin, combining "paene," meaning "almost," with "umbra." "Antumbra" derives from Latin "anti," meaning "against," and "umbra."
The umbra is the darker total shadow; the penumbra is the surrounding partial shadow.
In a solar eclipse, no sunlight penetrates the umbra. This is because the umbra is basically the shadow of the Earth, so in this case, the Earth is receiving the sunlight from the Sun, while both the umbra and moon are in the dark.
No, a shadow cannot have only an umbra. A shadow is formed by a combination of different parts, including the umbra (the darkest part), penumbra (a lighter surrounding area), and antumbra (a region beyond the umbra where the light source is partially blocked by the object casting the shadow).
NO they don't. First the Solar Eclipse is on the other side of Umbra. They don't git to see much of it.Because it is usually to dark to see the moon in Umbra.
You get the sword Umbra by going to a place called Vindasel, just southwest of the Imperial City. There you will find a female wood elf called umbra. You can either go there right away, kill Umbra and get the sword, or you can do the daedric shrine mission which involves Umbra anyway. But remember to do the daedric shrine mission you mush be level 20. And if you don't do it, you won't be able to drop the Umbra sword. Good luck dude. for morrowind, just go outside of the entrance in Suran with the giant manor, keep going along the beach until you see a large opening leading up to a hill. There you will see a orc in orcish armor. He has Umbra, which in this one it is two handed. He's hard to beat, so good luck. In oblivion, well, just listen to the guy above.
daedric
As far as I know, the best weapon is actually Umbra. You can obtain it after killing Umbra herself in the Ayleid ruin Vindasel which is West of Pell's Gate. The sword is a quest item for Clavicus Vile, one of the Daedric shrines. You can however decide to keep the blade for yourself instead of taking Clavicus' upon completing the quest.
umbra is the shadow and penumbra is the part the umbra is in
the bound sword is a bound daedric claymore. that weapon is tied with the daedric warhammer.

In the original game, Daedric is the strongest, Ebony is the second, though some weapon types do the same as Daedric. If you've got Dawnguard installed, Daedric is the second strongest, after Dragonbone.
