Group 14, or 4A. The reason for this is in all elements there are layers of electrons, the first layer is always 2 electrons, but all the layers after that have to be 8 electrons otherwise the atom is not stable, which is why elements have charges. It is all elements goal to be stable meaning having an outer layer with 8 electrons. for example, Sodium or Na has a charge of +1 because it has 11 electrons, 2 or the first layer, 8 for the next layer leaving one electron in the last layer, +1. So it is Sodium's goal to lose one electron. With group 14 the non metals have 6 and 14 electrons. if you subtract two from these (the first layer) then divide by 8 you will come up with a number ending in .5 because they have 4 electrons in their outer layer. So they're goal is too either lose or gain 4 more electrons, in anyway that is most efficient.

Can all elements be stable?

All radioactive elements are unstable. Most isotopes of elements in periodic table are radioactive. Overall, most of the elements are unstable but they are present in traces on earth. Most elements on earth are stable.

What are stable and unstable elements of nuclear chemistry?

Unstable chemical elements are disintegrated by radioactive decay.

What are the unstable element?

Radioactive elements are unstable, and the shorter the half-life, the more unstable they are.

Are the most stable elements you the periodic table are found in the family of alkali metals?

No, the most stable elements on the periodic table are typically found in the noble gas family. Alkali metals, such as lithium and sodium, are relatively reactive compared to noble gases like helium and neon, which have full valence shells and are therefore more stable.

Which is the most unstable species in periodic table among transition and inner transition element?

The most unstable species in the periodic table among transition and inner transition elements is #43 Technetium (Tc). It is so unstable that it does not occur naturally.

Which are unstable elements that decay or break down into differt elements?

Unstable elements that decay or break down into different elements are called radioactive elements. These elements have an unstable atomic nucleus that undergoes radioactive decay, transforming into a different element and releasing energy in the process. Examples of radioactive elements include uranium, radium, and plutonium.

Which would you most expect to be an unstable atom?

An atom with an excess number of protons or neutrons relative to the number of electrons is more likely to be unstable. Additionally, atoms with a high atomic number (number of protons) tend to be less stable due to increased electromagnetic repulsion between the protons.

Which are unstable elements that decay or break down into different elements?

Radioactive

What are synthesizers?

Synthetic elements are unstable chemical elements not naturally found on the earth. They are synthesized in the laboratory. All of them are unstable and radioactive in nature, which means they emit radiations and decay into other elements.

Where are the unstable and radioactive elements found in the periodic table?

All elements have unstable isotopes so the answer would be everywhere. However if you mean 'elements with only unstable isotopes' thennumber 43 Technetiumnumber 61 Promethiumeverything above 92

Why are elements fe and s considered unstable atoms?

Iron (Fe) and sulfur (S) are not considered unstable atoms. Both elements are stable on their own in their natural state. However, certain isotopes of iron and sulfur can be unstable and undergo radioactive decay.

Is O radioactive?

If you mean oxygen: like most elements, it has both stable isotopes, and unstable (i.e., radioactive) isotopes. 16O, 17O and 18O are stable; the unstable (radioactive) isotopes include 15O and 14O.
