Cortisol
Synergistic hormones.
When a sympathetic response is triggered in the body the heart rate increases, and the strength of the contractions of the heart also increases. The airways dilate which increases airflow. Blood vessels constrict, and therefore blood pressure rises.
The sympathetic nervous system increases the rate and depth of breathing by dilating the bronchioles and increasing heart rate, to prepare the body for "fight or flight" responses. It also decreases mucus secretion in the respiratory system, allowing more oxygen to enter the bloodstream.
The sympathetic system tends to inhibit insulin secretion, as it is involved in the "fight or flight" response where energy is needed quickly. On the other hand, the parasympathetic system stimulates insulin secretion, as it is known as the "rest and digest" system that promotes nutrient absorption and storage.
A prominent class of motor neurons in the sympathetic nervous system are involved with vasoconstriction also with an increase in the heart rate.
increased sensitivity to sympathetic output
An agent that mimics the effects of the sympathetic nervous system.Example: Epinephrine and norepinephrine are sympathomimetic hormones because they produce effects that mimic those brought about by the sympathetic nervous system.
Adrenaline and noradrenaline hormones are secreted in stress conditions. During this the blood vessels dilates and the heart rate increases. BUT actually the function of both the hormone is synergistic in raising the blood pressure. These also release glucose from liver and reinforce the effects of sympathetic system. In the absence of these hormones, the stress conditions are diminished.
When the sympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system us activated its effects can be prolonged by the secretions of the epinephrine by the adrenal medulla. Adrenal medulla is the inner most part of the adrenal gland.Ê
The secretion of the adrenal medulla acts to supplement the effects of the sympathetic nervous system by releasing hormones such as adrenaline (epinephrine) and noradrenaline (norepinephrine). These hormones help prepare the body for fight or flight responses by increasing heart rate, dilating airways, and redirecting blood flow to essential organs.
== == Thyroid hormones have far more than just three effects on the body. Two major ones are (1) the upregulation of an electrolyte pump called the sodium-potassium pump and (2) synergism with the sympathetic nervous system.
The endocrine system regulates the body's functions rapidly through the release of hormones into the bloodstream, but the effects are short-lived compared to the nervous system. Hormones act on target organs to elicit specific responses and are quickly broken down or removed from circulation.
The Sustain pedal on a piano essentially prolongs the sound that has been played.
The parasympathetic and sympathetic divisions of the autonomic nervous system or antagonistic. They have opposing effects.
Synergistic hormones.

There is no direct scientific evidence to suggest that conch salad has any specific effects on hormones. The ingredients in conch salad, such as conch meat, vegetables, and citrus juices, are generally considered to be nutritious and may support overall health, but they are not known to have a direct impact on hormone levels.
