Hydrogen sulfide (H2S, 34g/mol) has a higher molar mass than ammonia (NH3, 17g/mol), so if equal volumes of both gases were released in the same physical area, you would be most likely to smell the ammonia first because it's lighter and would be carried along through the air more quickly by diffusion. Also, if both gases were in a balloon with a tiny hole in it, the ammonia would effuse out more quickly than the hydrogen sulfide, again, because of the lower molar mass.

What gas is the heaviest H2S NH3 CO SO2?

The heaviest gas among the ones listed is sulfur dioxide (SO2), as it has a molar mass of 64.07 g/mol compared to the molar masses of hydrogen sulfide (H2S), ammonia (NH3), and carbon monoxide (CO).

Are inorganic compounds bonded to hydrogen?

Yes. NH3, H2O, H2S, H2SO4; anything without carbon is an inorganic compound.

Which organism is not correctly matched to its energy source a. photoheterotroph-light b. photoautotroph- CO2 c. chemoautotroph- fe2 plus d. chemoheterotroph-glucose e.chemoautotroph-nh3?

e. chemoautotroph-nh3. Chemoautotrophs use inorganic chemicals such as H2S or NH3 as an energy source, not NH3.

Arrange the following sets of molecules in decreasing order of bond angle SF6 CCl4 H2ONH3 H2S?

The bond angles for the given molecules can be arranged in decreasing order as follows: H2O (approximately 104.5°) > NH3 (approximately 107°) > CCl4 (109.5°) > SF6 (90° for the axial positions, 180° between axial and equatorial positions, but generally considered as having a bond angle of 90° due to its octahedral geometry) > H2S (approximately 92°). Thus, the order is H2O > NH3 > CCl4 > H2S > SF6.

What is the reaction equation for CH3CSNH2 and H2O?

The reaction equation between CH3CSNH2 and H2O would involve hydrolysis of the amide bond in CH3CSNH2. The products would be CH3COOH (acetic acid) and NH3 (ammonia). The balanced equation is: CH3CSNH2 + H2O → CH3COOH + NH3
