You would think that the largest planet, Jupiter, would rotate the slowest (every 9 earth days and 15 minutes), but it is actually Venus that rotates the slowest at one rotation every 243 earth days.

What planet rotates around its axis most like the earth?

Mars. It has a very similar axis tilt and rotation period.

Is Earth the planet that rotates on its side?

No. It rotates in an axis that is about 23° tilted from perpendicular to the plane of the ecliptic. Uranus is the planet that is most tilted on its side, with an axial tilt of 97.77°.

Is the planet mercury is the fastest planet to rotate?

No, Jupiter is the fastest planet to rotate about its axis. Mercury rotates very slowly (about 59 Earth days per rotation).

Rotational movement opposite from that of most planets?

Retrograde rotation is when a planet rotates in a direction opposite to the majority of planets in our solar system. The planet Venus rotates in retrograde, meaning it spins clockwise on its axis when viewed from above its north pole. This is in contrast to the counterclockwise rotation of most planets, including Earth.

Planet with the shortest rotation?

Jupiter rotates on its axis most rapidly out of all of the planets, 9h 55m 30s for one full spin. Haumea is a small dwarf planet, it rotates once in only 3h 54m 56s.

Which terrestrial planet has retrograde spin?

Venus is the terrestrial planet with retrograde spin, meaning it rotates on its axis in the opposite direction to most other planets in our solar system.

What planet spins in a reverse direction to all the others?

Venus is the planet that spins in the reverse direction compared to most other planets in our solar system. It rotates on its axis from east to west, known as retrograde rotation, whereas Earth and the majority of other planets spin from west to east.

Does Neptune rotate vertically or horizontally?

Neptune rotates horizontally on its axis, like most other planets in our solar system. Its axis is tilted at about 28.32 degrees relative to the plane of its orbit around the Sun, causing it to have seasons similar to Earth.

What planet has no satellites and a retrograde revolution?

Venus is the planet that has no natural satellites (moons) and rotates on its axis in a retrograde direction, which means it rotates clockwise when viewed from above its north pole. It is unique as most other planets in our solar system rotate in a prograde direction.
