Although it would depend on your objective, Mars would generally be more suitable. Ganymede has far less gravity, far more ambient radiation (almost 8 rems a day), and is far colder.
Jupiter's largest moon, Ganymede, is as big as the planet Mercury.
Yes, Mars has all the right stuff to Live Of The Land. Cheaper to stay there ,5 Bill a year to maintain Colony, and what science we would learn! For the crazy few who would take on such an adventure I say Go For It ! Mars need sus, and we neded Mars
As of now, there is no human colony on Mars. There have been plans by various space agencies and private companies to establish a permanent settlement on Mars in the future, but this has not yet been realized.
All matter causes gravity. Every planet will have a gravitational attraction. Certainly Earth, Mars, our Moon, and the Jovian moons Callisto and Ganymede will be walkable.
Who said that? Since Mars is so far away, compared to the Moon ( it can take 6 months to get to Mars, and 3 days to get to the Moon), living on Mars today would be much more difficult. Also the Moon may have more useful minerals to mine than Mars. That is important because the space travelers will need to make their own air, water, food and life-support (energy).
no
the moon because its closer to earth
No, Mars is smaller than Ganymede. Ganymede is the largest moon in our solar system and is even larger than the planet Mercury. Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and is bigger than Earth's Moon but smaller than Ganymede.
no
No. The entire surface of Ganymede is ice.
Ganymede is very cold, and has a very thin atmosphere. It would not be possible to live there without a protective environment. However, WITH a protective environment and enough power, there would be no problem living there. This would be similar to the habitats that have been proposed for the Moon and for Mars. Aside from the great scenery of watching Jupiter in the sky, I'm not sure why anyone would WANT to live there.

Jupiter's largest moon, Ganymede, is as big as the planet Mercury.
Ganymede would appear brightest from Jupiter since it is the largest moon in the solar system and has a highly reflective icy surface. This combination of size and reflectivity would make it appear the brightest when viewed from Jupiter.
well it would have to have water and if it had water then all the things in the air would probably go away because the water would evaporate making it rain and that will evaporate and so on the sky will get blue er and mars will have a atmosphere and that how but it will take billions of years for all of that to happen so if I'm wrong please someone put something better i hope this helps
Ganymede is the largest moon in the solar system and is about 26% larger in diameter compared to Earth's moon. However, when comparing it to Earth, Ganymede is still significantly smaller, with a diameter that is only about 41% the size of Earth.
There is no colony on Mars and no space shuttle will be traveling to Mars. There is a robotic probe on Mars. No human being has ever been there. At the present time (2013) it is impossible to say if any human being ever will go there. Certainly some people would liketo go there. But no trips are scheduled.
