The first compound microscope was made circa 1590 in The Netherlands. Hans Lippershey, Sacharias Jansen, and Hans Jenssen, all eyeglass makers, have each been given credit for the invention, using two separated lenses to greatly increase magnification.
About 1670, Anton van Leeuwenhoek dramatically increased the magnifying power of the simple microscope by creating small spheres of high-quality glass, from which powerful lenses could be made.

compound light microscope - cell theory - electron microscope
A simple version of a compound microscope was used to discover cells. Robert Hooke first described cells in 1665, using a compound microscope. Soon after, Anton van Leeuwenhoek also studied cells using a microscope with more advanced lenses.
Light microscope cannot be used. An electron microscope houl b used
A microscope.
The first microscope was called the "simple microscope" or "single lens microscope". It was developed in the late 16th century and consisted of a single convex lens used to magnify small objects.
The first usable compound microscope people used was about 1655 by Robert hooke! :)
the coarse adjustment
The microscope used to discover bacteria was the light microscope, specifically the compound microscope. Anton van Leeuwenhoek, a Dutch scientist, first observed bacteria through a simple microscope he created in the late 1600s.
The first microscope was used in the late 16th century, around the year 1590, by Dutch spectacle maker Zacharias Janssen. This early microscope consisted of two lenses in a tube and was a rudimentary form of the magnification instrument.

The first microscope was used in 1899 by Zaccharias Jansen and he tested it with a fine shaving of cork!
The coarse adjustment knob is used for first focusing when using a microscope. It is used to move the objective lens closer to or farther away from the specimen to bring it into rough focus.

The coarse adjustment knob is used for first focusing the microscope. This knob moves the stage up and down quickly to bring the specimen into rough focus.
The coarse adjustment knob is typically the first knob to be used when focusing a microscope, as it moves the objective lenses closer to or farther away from the specimen to bring it into view.
