One of Fritz Zwickys daughters.
the youngest star is shaira is it the Zwicky 18 in the milky way.
The word supernova was first used by Fritz Zwicky, a Swiss astrophysicist and astronomer, and was first seen in print in 1926. The word was from the original German, Haupt Nova. This comes from Nova (plural novae) which means "new" in Latin.
I am researching that question too, All I know is: · dark matter is hypothetical matter that is undetectable by its emitted radiation · presence can be found from gravitational effects on visible matter · Dark matter is believed to play a central role in structure formation1 and galaxy evolution1 · most of the matter in the entire Universe is invisible · invisible stuff is called dark matter · called "dark" because it does not emit any light · cannot be seen directly Have fun!
From 1400 BC to AD 1600, China recorded around 90 novas. Among them the supernova SN1054 [See Link] was the first supernova confirmed by modern radio astronomers. A British astronomer in 1731, discovered an oblong cloud"" over China. After observation, calculation and analysis by several astronomers, it was proved that the crab shaped nebula found in this position was the ruins of a supernova that had shot out of a dense cluster some 900 years previously. i.e. the year of 1054. This discovery was one of the most significant astronomical findings in the 1960s.
No, at present dark matter can't be used as energy. However, when Marco Polo went to China he observed the them burning black rocks (coal) for heat. This was an unknown and unexpected source of energy in Europe at the time. Undiscovered sources of energy are by definition presently unknown.
Dr. Fritz Zwicky received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1949. A photograph in my possession shows Dan A. Kimball, Undersecretary of the Navy for Air, and T.C. Chapman, Brigadier General US Air Force, giving him the medal at Aerojet Engineering Corporation, Azusa, California. Dr. Barbarina Zwicky,h.c.
Fritz Zwicky was born in Varna, Bulgaria, on February 14, 1898 and moved to Switzerland to live with his grandparents when he was a very young child. He was a Swiss citizen even though he lived and worked in the United States of America. He returned to Switzerland later in life during his retirement years, and lived in an estate home near Bern, Switzerland, still returning to the United States to work, remaining professor emeritus at Caltech.
