This is not proposed by avagadro, the term mole introduced by ostwald but in terms of grams. In its 1967 meeting , CCU added mole unit to SI unit system to measure amount of matter or substance(SI unit mol-1) and In 1909 jean baptiste proposed this name in honor of avagadro.

They need a counting unit to count the number of atoms, molecules, or formula units of a substance.
...amount... One mole of sucrose and one mole of glucose refers to the same amount of molecules of each. Remember that the mole is the chemist's counting unit. One mole of something is 6.022137x10^23 particles of a substance.
Filipino agricultural chemist, Doctor Francisco Santos studied the nutritive values and chemical composition of local foods from the Philippines. His data was used to help detect and solve problems with Filipino diets.

Louis Pasteur studied microbiology and medicine. He was also a chemist.
He was a Canadian quantum chemist. He studied atoms in molecules and earned various degrees.
A person that studies chemistry is called a student of chemistry.A person that successfully studied chemistry (trained in chemistry) and earned a degreeis called a chemist or a pharmacist (British English).
Amedeo Avogadro is the Italian chemist and physicist credited with the mole concept. He determined that equal volumes of gases at the same temperature and pressure contain an equal number of molecules, which is known as Avogadro's Law.
