Alfred Wegener, a German meteorologist and geophysicist, is known for proposing the theory of continental drift in the early 20th century. This theory suggested that the Earth's continents were once joined in a single supercontinent called Pangaea and have since moved apart, leading to the concept of tectonic plates and plate tectonics.
The idea that Earth's crust and rigid upper mantle are broken into enormous slabs called plates is known as plate tectonics. These plates float on the semi-fluid asthenosphere below them and interact at plate boundaries, where various geological phenomena such as earthquakes and volcanic activity occur.

Dan McKenzie's evidence in his theory of plate tectonics was largely based on seafloor spreading. He observed that the oceanic crust was younger near mid-ocean ridges and progressively older farther away, supporting the idea of tectonic plates moving apart. Additionally, studies of magnetic striping on the seafloor provided further evidence for the movement of the Earth's plates.

No idea but i think it was about 600 million years ago or something like that?
It is no longer an idea for some time that plates are moving. It is a fact. Earthquakes and todays technology prove the fact that the earths plates are moving. Tsunamis are caused by earthquakes.
yes .. with science nothing is impossible ...:) if our scientist has developed it's idea then theyl surelly make it ..:)

The concept of biomes was popularized by German scientist Friedrich Ratzel in the late 19th century. However, the idea that distinct regions have unique collections of plants and animals predates Ratzel, with early naturalists like Alexander von Humboldt making observations on biogeography.
