Why did they name the other planets in the solar system after Roman deities, when the Earth itself is not named after one?

Seems like a pretty big oversight, considering that Earth has had a name for the longest.

Because Earth is the only planet not named after a Roman god or goddess, but it is associated with the goddess Terra Mater
