By the end of the second world war Jehovah's Witnesses were active in 14 African countries the number increasing to 19 by 1975. There are presently hundreds of thousands of African Jehovah's Witnesses in African countries most notably Congo, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia.
