They only need to lose one electron to obtain noble gas configuration and thus it is extremely energetically favorable for them to do this. Rubidium, potassium, sodium and lithium also only need one electron removing. With cesium and francium however, the atoms are much larger making the outer electron much further from the positive nucleus and also shielded by lot more electrons. This makes it extremely easy to remove and thus they are both highly reactive.

Francium will bond with what other element?

The chemistry of francium is not experimentally known; it is only estimated. Francium should be have properties similar to caesium.

Is francium related to water or caesium?

Francium is an alkali metal, similar to caesium. Water (H2O) is a compound, not an element. Francium, although it is believed to have never been tested, is thought to have been the most reactive element with water. It is among the alkali metals in group 1 on the periodic table of elements.

How do you prodict that francium would react?

The predictions are based on the supposition that francium is similar to caesium.

Which element has the same properties as cesium?

Only caesium has the same properties as caesium. There are other elements which have some similar properties.

How do you predict that francium would react?

Francium is a highly reactive alkali metal that readily loses its single valence electron to form a +1 cation. It would react violently with water, producing hydrogen gas and releasing a significant amount of energy. Due to its extreme rarity and radioactivity, francium's reactivity has not been extensively studied.

What are some things that contains francium?

Francium is a highly reactive and radioactive metal that is very rare in nature. It is found in minute quantities in uranium and thorium ores. It has also been produced in laboratories through nuclear reactions.

What elements in addition to lithium makeup the alkali metal family?

The alkali metal family consists of the elements lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, and francium. These elements share similar chemical properties, including being highly reactive and forming alkaline solutions when they react with water.
